Calcutta: When you strive for greater goals, smaller ones fall in place — that seems to be Karnataka’s mantra.
After completing a historic treble at the Eden Gardens here on Sunday, by winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy at the Eden Gardens. They had earlier won the Ranji Trophy and the Irani Cup, making this a dream season.
Naturally captain Ranganath Vinay Kumar was happy with the result. But though acknowledging it as a “great milestone” he said that the team really didn’t have a different plan for Sunday’s match.
“The mantra is nothing different. In our side everyone wants to play for India. Once they have a bigger goal, small things fall in place.”
Vinay Kumar rated this Karnataka side as the best ever.
“If you see, every day different players are performing for us. We are not banking on any particular individual, we have been combining well as a side. I think this is the best ever side we have ever had,” he said.
