Cops, Green valley to play today

Guwahati, March 14: Green Valley Sports Club will meet Assam Police Blues in an all-Guwahati summit clash of the sixth Assam State Premier League football tournament at Piyoli Phukan Stadium in Sivasagar tomorrow.

Green Valley last evening defeated Radial Club, Nagaon 2-1 in the second semi-final.

Pritam Ningthoujam opened the account for Green Valley in the 26th minute, and maintained the lead into the half time. Radial tried to come back in the second half and equalised in the 24th minute through Sunday Ogarayuk.

However, Green Valley increased the pressure and got the reward through striker Michael Lucky to make it 2-1 in the dying minutes of the match. Assam Police Blues on Wednesday rode a solitary goal by M. Nganthoiba Singh against Oil India FC, Duliajan to march into the final.

In a keenly-fought first semi-final, Singh netted home in the 45th minute.
