Ram Kripal to battle Misa

Patna, March 13: Ram Kripal Yadav, once Lalu Prasad’s trusted lieutenant, will take on the RJD chief’s daughter Misa Bharti from Pataliputra in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.

Ram Kripal’s name figured in the list of 25 candidates for the 30 Lok Sabha seats the BJP would contest in Bihar. The remaining 10 seats in the state have been left to its allies, the Lok Janshakti Party of Ram Vilas Paswan and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Samata Party.

Ram Kripal left the RJD and joined the BJP yesterday after Lalu denied him a ticket from Pataliputra.

Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav confirmed that the names of 25 candidates were finalized by the party’s central election committee which met in New Delhi today under national president Rajnath Singh. Former home secretary RK Singh has been given the ticket from Ara. Rajiv Pratap Rudy will take on Rabri Devi from Saran.

However, the BJP is yet to decide on five seats: Maharajganj, Buxar, Patna Saheb, Jhanjharpur and Supaul. The decision on these seats would be taken later. The BJP also did not take any decision on the seat of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
