Blood Mouth lift trophy

Hailakandi, March 9: Blood Mouth Club of Hailakandi annexed the District Sports Association of Hailakandi second division cricket league title, defeating SK Roy Cricket Academy by seven wickets at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Stadium here yesterday.

Winning the toss, SK Roy Academy elected to bat but were let down by disastrous batting to be bundled out for only 38 runs in 12.5 overs. In reply, Blood Mouth reached the target losing three wickets in six overs.

Biki Chetri and Sailendra Das of Blood Mouth took four wickets each conceding 13 and 18 runs respectively. Debojyoti Nath picked up the remaining two wickets for five runs.

For Blood Mouth, opener Anupam Sharma remained not out on 25 as Kabir Ahmed of SK Roy Academy captured all the three wickets giving away eight runs.

Biki Chetri was named Man of the Match. Debojyoti Nath of Blood Mouth was Best Batsman and Kabir Ahmed was Best Bowler.

Silchar school volleyball: Koroikandi High School emerged champions in the under-14 inter-school volleyball championship of District Sports Association of Silchar, defeating Public High School 25-21, 25-4 at Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium in Silchar on Friday evening. In the semi-finals, Koroikandi defeated Shyamacharan Deb Vidyapeeth and Public High School defeated Sonai NG Higher Secondary School.

Koroikandi will now play in the state-level under-14 inter-school volleyball championship. The matches of Barak zone are expected to be held at Karimganj.
