Docomo widens net

Telecom service provider Tata Docomo has announced extending its existing network in Jharkhand and introduce its new product Photon Max Wi-Fi. Ashok Ghose, the company’s mobility business unit (east) head said they were adding 900 more cell sites to take the number to over 2,000 in the state. The move will help them penetrate prior inaccessible Lohardaga, Pakur, Sahebganj and Godda districts and improve network coverage in Dumka, Koderma, Chatra, Palamau, Gumla and Garhwa, he added. This apart, customers can now enjoy new product offers of 105 per cent talk time on all recharges on the FRC (first recharge coupons) 34 pack. Ghose said the company would also introduce Jharkhand Photon Max Wi-Fi, a single device for hi-speed internet surfing on upto five gadgets at a time. “It is available at a device cost of Rs 1,999 and comes with all existing plans of Photon Plus,” Ghose said

Energy kudos

Tata Power won laurels when Maithon Power Limited (MPL), the 74:26 joint venture between the private company and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) was recognised by Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS). MPL, which implemented the 2 x 525MW coal-fired power project power in Jharkhand, is the first successful public-private partnership in greenfield generation project in India. The company has also successfully completed three internal system audits and two external audits conducted by the IRQS

National Safety Day

Public sector majors observed National Safety Day with an inclusive approach. A safety walk was held by SAIL Safety Organisation, Ranchi, on March 4. The 2km walk from Ispat Executive Hostel, SAIL Satellite Township to Ispat Bhavan Complex, SAIL, was flagged off by R.K Rathi, RDCIS executive director in-charge. A decked-up campaign vehicle followed marching employees. Prizes were handed over to winners of various competitions, including inter-school quiz. HEC, Ranchi, also observed safety day by unfurling safety flags at all its three plants and corporate headquarters in Dhurwa. HEC plant heads took the safety pledge

Adding colour to imagination

Amway Opportunity Foundation, the CSR arm of Amway India, hosted Nanhe Chitrakaar in Jamshedpur on March 1 as part of its pan-India annual painting competition for children. Senior income tax official Swetabh Suman presented certificates to winners and participants signed by Amway Opportunity Foundation chairman William S. Pinckney. Amway area manager (Bihar and Jharkhand) Alok Deep was also present
