Assam driver found dead

Imphal, March 7: Manas Ali, a driver, who was missing since February 22, was found dead at Molvom village under Kangpokpi police station in Senapati district this morning.

Police said Ali, 21, a resident of Sukhajan under Bokajan police station of Assam, was found shot on the roadside, nearly 50km from Imphal.

Ali was driving a Tata Winger between Dimapur and Imphal. Chandrakumar Rai, a resident of Khatkhati of Assam, owns the vehicle.

The police said Ali left Imphal on February 22 carrying two passengers and was missing since then.

The police recovered the Winger from a school at Kangpokpi in Senapati district on February 25, after the local residents reported the presence of the vehicle on the school campus for two days.
