Guwahati, March 7: City Cricket Club registered a four-wicket victory over Navarang Club in their match of the Bhupen Chandra Mahanta GSA A-Division Cricket League at Nehru Stadium here today.
Put in to bat, Navarang Club managed 147 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 35 overs. Chasing a modest total, City Cricket batsmen got past the target, losing six wickets on the last delivery of their regular overs.
For Navarang, Rajib Kalita scored 39 runs off 45 deliveries, which included four hits to the fence while Shyam Sharma chipped in with 36 runs off 60 balls.
Lakshan Das contributed 15 runs off 14 deliveries.
Chandradeep Das was the pick of the City Cricket bowlers with four wickets for 27 runs in his allotted seven overs while Raj Agarwal scalped two wickets going for 31 runs in his quota of overs.
In reply, Deepak Bhatt topscored for City with an unbeaten 56 runs off 90 balls with four boundaries while Shuhel Rehman chipped in with 30 runs off 23 deliveries.
Anup Bhujel contributed 20 runs off 42 balls.
Azahar Ali picked up two wickets going for 16 runs in his allotted overs while Ikramul Ali scalped one for 24 runs in his quota of overs.
