Cops enter semi-finals

Manipur Polo

Imphal, March 6: Manipur Police Sports Club (A) moved into the semi-finals, defeating Nambul Mapal Polo Club(A) by 4-3 goals in the 24th Governorís Cup Invitation Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

Nambul Mapal took the lead with L. Tarun scoring in the 5.13th minute and S. Girimohon scoring in the 6.10th minute in the first chukker. In the second chukker, I. Khaba found the net for Manipur Police in the 3.57th minute. I. Sachindra struck again for Nambul Mapal in the 5.52nd minute to post a 3-1 tally.

Manipur Police rider S. Bimol hammered two goals in the third chukker in the 4.28th and 4.41st minutes to level scores 3-3.

In the fourth chukker, Manipur Police had the final say with M. Jawan getting the winning goal in the 2.19th minute.

MCA cricket: Cachar Road Athletic Union came up with a four-wicket victory over Western Cricket Association in the first MCA Plate Tournament at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium today.

Veteranís T20: NAPSA Kha Imphal posted an 80-run win over IWVCC to move into the semi-finals in the second T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2013-14.

Hockey: Manipur Police Sports Club (A) drubbed MPSC (B) by 13-3 goals to sail into the final of the second Y. Rashmani Memorial Invitation Menís Seven-a-Side Hockey Tournament at Kontha Ahallup in Imphal East.

Table tennis: Manipur Table Tennis Association has informed its affiliated units that it will be holding a monthlong residential table tennis coaching camp from May 1-30 under Korean coach Kim Song Han.
