Cops take FB help to curb graft

Capture errant cops in the act on your cellphone or camera and post it on a page of a social networking site.

Patna traffic police have hit upon this unique idea to clamp down on personnel of their department who take bribes from vehicles and also to invite suggestions to address problems pertaining to specific areas.

A page on Facebook, Sptraffic Patna, has been created in which residents can upload videos if they come across any traffic constable or officer indulging in unlawful activities, especially accepting bribes. Else, they can mail the pictures or send their complaints or suggestions to sptrafficpnbe@gmail.com. The page has evoked lukewarm response from the public. Regarding the email id sptrafficpnbe@gmail.com, an officer said: “The mails would be read and action would be initiated.”
