Model drub Mayai Koibi

Imphal, Feb. 27: A fine batting display by Model Club batsmen helped the team defeat PCC Mayai Koibi by 133 runs in the 1st MCA Plate Cricket Tournament at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium today.

Model batsman Tejkumarís hurricane knock of 81 runs and Nongdren 53 runs help built an imposing 247/9 from 35 overs. Ajit Singh contributed 25 runs. Among the PCC bowlers, Rohit picked up three wickets while Ranjan took two wickets.

PCC Mayai Koibi could muster only 144 all out from 31.2 overs with Santosh scoring 32 runs while Rohit got 29 runs.

Model bowler Saikhomba was the most successful, claiming five wickets and was declared the Man of the Match while Mangi, Boris, Iboyaima claimed a wicket each.

Veteransí T20: Reyoungster Nagamapal posted a 47-run victory against NAPSA Kha Imphal in the 2nd T20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament played at Langthabal ground today. Reyoungster made 124/8 with Majibur Rehman topscoring with 33 runs. NAPSA bowler Goutam took three wickets.

In reply, NAPSA managed just 77/8 with Ronikumar scoring 21 runs. Reyoungster bowler Krishnand claimed two wickets.

Hockey: Super Sporting Association drubbed Bashikhong (B) by 11-2 goals in the second Y. Rashmani Memorial Invitation Seven-a-Side Hockey Tournament played at Kontha Ahallup, Imphal East.

In another match, Henjunaha defeated Bashikhong (A) by 4-2 goals.

Corporate soccer: Apunba Fitness Centre blanked Imphal Hospital by 4-0 goals in the second Xenoh Corporate Challenge Football at Tabungkhok in Imphal West.

In the other matches, Rk. Fortune defeated Bharti Infratel by 3-0 goals and SS Sound got the better of Iboyaima & Sons by a solitary goal.
