BJP plans blockade on March 7

Ranchi, Feb. 27: BJP is planning an economic blockade on March 7 when partymen would stop loading and transportation of minerals at strategic locations across the state to protest the Centre’s neglect of Jharkhand.

Senior leader Arjun Munda today said that even though he had raised the issue of granting Jharkhand special status on various occasions, the Centre continued to ignore the state’s demands.

“We raised the issue at National Development Council meetings and during interactions with the Prime Minister. But Jharkhand has always been given step-motherly treatment by the Centre, which the BJP will never approve,” he said.

The party also announced the return of senior Bokaro leader Rajendra Mahto to the BJP fold today.

“I have returned to the BJP with the pledge to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister,” said the former JVM man who quit the party to float his own outfit.
