Manipur cops on a roll

Imphal, Feb. 26: Manipur Police Sports Club (B) galloped into the semi-final of the 30th State Level Polo Tournament, drubbing Nambul Mapal Polo Club 16-0 at Mapal Kangjeibung here today.

S. Abungcha was Nambul Mapalís tormentor-in-chief, scoring seven goals while S. Somorjit struck four times, as did Th. Ranjit. S. Bimol who found the back of the net once.

Cops enter final: Manipur Police Sports Club (A) moved into the final of the 1st Women Open Futsal tournament after defeating SAI RC 9-2 at Pishumthong ground here. The policewomen will meet Eastern Sporting Union (B), who edged past Naharol Yaipha Thourang Club and Youth Welfare Club Thambalkhong on the basis of better goal aggregate, in the final.

Bungcha wins: Sougrakpam Bungcha of Super Gym Khurai stood first in the 8th State Level Cash Prize Body Building Championship under the theme Mr Challenge Cup, 2014.

He received Rs 20,000, along with mementoes and food supplements, for his feat. K. Dinesh and A. Sushilkumar from YBB Gym stood second and third respectively.

Policemen win: Manipur Police Sporting Club (A) defeat YCCIC (B) 3-2 at Kontha Ahallup in Imphal East in a match of the 2nd Y. Rashmani Memorial Invitation Menís Open Seven-a-Side Hockey Tournament.

Journos go down: Airport Authority of India drubbed All Manipur Working Journalist Union 5-0 in the 2nd Xenoh Corporate Football Challenge organised by Hero Foundation & TBSFA at Tabungkhok in Imphal West. In the other matches, Rajpri beat Shija Hospital (A) 3-0 while Babina Diagnostic beat Kongkham Electricals 6-0 and City Hospital beat Indigo by 6-0 goals.
