Hansda keen on Jamshedpur LS seat

President of JMM’s East Singhbhum unit Ramesh Hansda has expressed his desire to contest the Lok Sabha election from the prestigious Jamshedpur seat.

The 38-year-old leader, who joined the JMM in 2000, has written to party supremo Shibu Soren and chief minister Hemant Soren, requesting them for a ticket and saying that they would gain if they fielded him from Jamshedpur.

“I think I deserve a ticket from Jamshedpur parliamentary seat. I slogged hard to bring JMM’s achievements within the reach of the people of the hinterland and stand a good chance of winning,” Hansda, one of the party’s tribal faces in East Singhbhum, said.

“The JMM will not only get help from its alliance partner Congress if it fielded me, but will also be supported by different sections of the society,” said the politician, who has headed JMM’s various panels, including the district youth wing.

JVM’s Ajoy Kumar is the current Jamshedpur MP.

The prestigious seat was earlier held by BJP leader and former chief minister Arjun Munda.
