Foetus dumped at Nutan home

Mumbai, Feb. 22: A foetus believed to be that of a girl child was found today in the swimming pool of yesteryear star Nutan’s bungalow in Thane.

According to police, the foetus, packed inside a plastic bag, was in a highly decomposed condition, indicating that it was disposed of five to six days ago.

“We suspect that slum-dwellers living nearby could have disposed of the foetus in the swimming pool. We have sent the body for post mortem and lodged an offence under Section 318 (concealment of birth by secret disposal of dead body) of the IPC against unknown accused,” an officer said.

A watchman of the 48-year-old bungalow, located at Parsik Hill in Thane’s Kharegaon area, spotted the plastic bag in the pool around 9.45am. After finding the foetus inside, he informed the manager, who reported the matter to Nutan’s actor son Mohnish Bahl.

“I told them to immediately report it to the police…. The police had reached the place and begun their investigations when I reached,” Bahl said.
