‘A nice feeling’

Calcutta: Without doubt, Balwant Singh was a happy man after scoring a brace to bring Churchill Brothers out from the jaws of defeat.

However, the striker feels he still has a lot of work to do. “Scoring two goals against a team like Mohun Bagan is always special. I’m happy with how I performed. It’s a nice feeling. But having said that, I still got a lot of work to do… Can’t just stop here. I want to do well in the AFC Cup too,” Balwant said.

Bagan coach Karim Bencharifa, too, lauded the Churchill forward for his wonderful show. But at the same time, the Moroccan urged his men to work on their finishing and cash in on the set-pieces.

Meanwhile, Sudip Trivedi, a Bagan fan, fell from the top tier of the Salt Lake Stadium after the match and had to be hospitalised. His condition is critical.
