Woman jailed for six months

Shillong, Feb. 20: A court here sentenced a woman to six months’ imprisonment on Tuesday on charges of possessing heroin.

On September 9 last year, police and sleuths of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force raided the rented house of Lalthazuali Ralte and 2gm of heroin was found on her.

A case was registered and investigated into and accordingly, a chargesheet was filed against the accused. Sub-inspector M.A. Marak investigated the case.

During the course of trial, the court of special judge, (NDPS) Shillong, found the accused guilty under Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
