Eastern Sporting stem Force

Imphal, Feb. 10: Eastern Sporting Union rode Chittaranjan Sharma’s 33-run knock to defeat Force Khetrigao by four runs in the first MCA Plate Group at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium today.

In a close match, Eastern Sporting Union decided to bat after winning the toss.

Chittaranjan Sharma struck 33 runs from 55 balls.

Shankar and Sivanand struck 10 runs to put up 102 runs for 10 wickets from 30 overs.

Among the Force bowlers, Salman proved to be the most successful, claiming four wickets, while Tashid and Zali bagged two wickets each.

In reply, Force Khetrigao batsman reeled under the pace attack of Eastern Sporting Union and were bundled out for 98 runs for 10 wickets from 26.3 overs.

Zal topscored with 22 runs, while teammate Subandin scored 21 runs, Noor Alam and Islauddin chipped in with 12 runs each.

Eastern bowler Chittaranjan Sharma and Shankar picked up three wickets each while Sivananda got two wickets for the team’s victory.

Chittaranjan Sharma of Eastern Sporting team was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 33 runs and three-wicket haul.

In tomorrow’s match, Model Club will take on Thangmeiband Athletic Union.

Veterans’ cricket: NAPSA Nambul Mapal will clash with Cyclone Thangmeiband in the final of the Veterans’ Cricket Tournament to be played at Langthabal in Imphal West.
