Bathou festival begins

- Devotees throng Simla

Kokrajhar, Feb. 6: Thousands of Bathou devotees and delegates from Nepal and other states of the country, including Bengal, Nagaland, Meghalaya, besides people from various parts of Assam thronged the 10th conference of the All Bathou Mahasabha at Simla in Baksa district.

Colourful programmes will be held during the four-day conference that began today. It is being organised by the Paschim Baksa district All Bathou Mahasabha. BTC executive member Buddhi Narzary inaugurated the main gate. It was followed by inauguration of a prayer hall by Mwnthir Chandra Boro, former president of Paschim Baksa district Bathou Mahasabha.

More than 10,000 delegates are participating in the conference. A delegate session was held this evening where the Sabha discussed various issues related to Bathou religion and community.
