Jaleshwar new state JD-U boss

Ranchi, Feb. 5: Jaleshwar Mahto has again been made the state unit president of JD(U) after Gopal Krishna Patar, alias Raja Peter, quit from the key post.

Mahto will fly to New Delhi tomorrow to seek the blessings of his party’s national president Sharad Yadav.

“Last evening, Sharad Yadav informed me over phone that I have been made the party’s state president again. I need his blessings and guidelines to finalise our next course of action. Considering the strength of our traditional vote bank, we are again going to play a decisive role in the approaching election,’ an upbeat Mahto told The Telegraph.

Asked about any new initiative to check likely desertions of members from the party, he said nothing of that sort would happen.

“It is being perceived that the JD(U) has become a spent force in Jharkhand after parting ways with the BJP. The fact is we lost more over the years while shouldering the BJP’s failures,” he added.
