Calcutta: Tiger Woods met Sachin Tendulkar and his family on Tuesday and later described the maestro as a “cool” person.
While Woods was in the capital to participate in an exhibition match at the Delhi Golf Club, Sachin was there to receive the Bharat Ratna.
“Just met a cricket legend and his family. Sachin Tendulkar @sachin_rt was so cool and loved being welcomed to India,” tweeted Woods.
Both Sachin and Woods checked into the Hotel Maurya Sheraton on Monday.
Woods is not the only one whom Sachin impressed. The Master, who retired from all formats of cricket in November last year, had drawn applause from legends like Roger Federer and Michael Schumacher.
Upon The Master’s retirement, Federer tweeted: “What a remarkable career. Wish you the very best moving forward #ThankYouSachin.”
The two met for the first time during 2011 Wimbledon.
When Sachin retired, Schumacher said: “As a sportsman with a long active career as well, I think I can judge what it means to be around as many years as Sachin Tendulkar is, and I can only express my biggest respect for his achievements.”
