Siliguri, Feb. 3: A train between Assam and Bangalore via north Bengal was flagged off from Kamakhya today. It will run from February 12.
Northeast Frontier Railway officials said 12551/12552 Kamakhya (Guwahati)-Yesvantpur (Bangalore) weekly AC Express would leave Kamakhya Junction at 2pm every Wednesday and arrive at Yesvantpur on Fridays at 6.30pm. On the return trip, the train will leave Yesvantpur at 8.30am on Saturdays and reach Kamakhya on Mondays at 1.30pm.
“The train was announced in the railway budget,” said an official.
The train will run via Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Durgapur, Asansol, Bankura, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, Chennai Central, Katpadi and Jolarpettai.
