Five arrested

Nagaon, Feb. 2: Nagaon police arrested five youths in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 24-year-old mentally challenged girl along the bank of the Kolong river.

Ainul, Mainul, Idrish, Mokbul and Mukul were arrested after the police found them to be involved in the crime.

The girl lives at Nagaon State Home and she was missing since January 30.

The police rescued her in a critical condition on Friday and after reporting the matter to the state home authorities, admitted her to a civil hospital.

Nagaon police claimed that preliminary investigation proved that she was gang-raped.
