Zol to play Ranji final

Mumbai: India under-19 captain Vijay Zol would be released from the ongoing national junior team’s World Cup preparatory camp in Bangalore to play in the Ranji Trophy final for Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra-Karnataka final begins from January 29 in Hyderabad.

“Zol would be released to play the Ranji Trophy final. He will join the (Maharashtra) team on January 28. However, he will have to rejoin the under-19 camp after the conclusion of the final,” said Ratnakar Shetty, BCCI’s General Manager Game Development, here, on Friday.

Zol is a key batsman for Maharashtra, who have reached the Ranji final after more than two decades after the 1992-93 season, against Punjab. (PTI)
