Jewellery, cash stolen

Thieves decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs 18 lakh from the house of one Nawal Kishore Prasad, a retired commandant of the Railway Protection Force, late on Thursday evening.

Prasadís three-storeyed house is located at Gurudwara Gali on Fraser Road under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Maidan police station.

The family was not at home when the theft took place. The police said the stolen goods included Rs 1.50 lakh in cash and the rest was in the form of jewellery. An FIR has been lodged in connection with the incident.
