Guwahati, Jan. 21: Navarang Club got the better of Favourite Club by 31 runs in their match of the 12th Jugal Kishore Newatia Bud Challenge Trophy at Nehru Stadium here today.
Electing to bat, Navarang Club put up 186 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 40 overs. Bishal Roy topscored with an unbeaten 55 runs off 73 balls while Jnan Boro contributed 26 runs off 36 deliveries. Kaushik Oja was another notable contributor with 22 runs off 30 balls.
Pritam Das scalped three wickets conceding 30 runs in eight overs while Prasanta Haloi picked up two wickets for 17 runs in five overs.
In reply, Favourite Club could only manage 155 runs before being bundled out in 37.1 overs. Rajat Khan scored 47 runs off 30 balls while Ranjit Changmai contributed 43 runs off 67 deliveries.
Mantu Das was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for 20 runs in 9.1 overs while Ritupan Phatowali and Abhijit Singha Roy scalped two wickets each. Bishal Roy was named Man of the Match.
