Jiribam edge past South Eastern

Imphal, Jan. 9: All-Jiribam Sports Association came up with their first victory, defeating South Eastern Youth Organisation by 2-1 goals in the first under-14 boys’ Herojit Waribam Gold Cup Hockey Tournament at Khuman Lampak practice field here.

The South Eastern team looked convincing in the beginning with Bidyananda Singh getting the opening goal in the sixth minute for the lead.

All-Jiribam got the equaliser through Karangamba in the 14th minute to level scores 1-1 in the 25th minute.

All-Jiribam got the winning goal in the 28th minute with Ch. Victor Singh striking a field goal.

In the other matches, Hockey Association of Young Talent drubbed YC Lairikyengbam Leikai by 11-0 goals. Posterior Hockey Academy Manipur beat Khongman Students Club by 4-0 goals.

K. Birla cricket: PCA came up with a 10-wicket victory over Hawk Eyes in the first State Level under-15 K. Birla Cricket Tournament at Patsoi in Imphal West.

PCA will meet Force XI in the first semi-final on Saturday while YWC Lamgthabal will face Model Club in the second semi-final on Sunday.

Seven-a-side football: Kongpal AAA team got the better of LFC Tekcham by 14-13 goals during a sudden death in the fifth M. Rabichandra Memorial Seven a Side Football Tournament at Kiyamgei today.
