At least 13 persons were killed when an under-construction residential building collapsed in Goa’s Canacona town on Saturday.
Eyewitnesses said that Ruby Residency, coming up on a busy road, crashed like a pack of cards around 3pm.
Chief minister Manohar Parrikar told reporters late in the evening that 10 people had been brought out alive and 13 bodies found in the rubble.
“The builder has told police that more than 40 workers were on the site when the structure crumbled,” he said.
Workers from Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and a few from Goa were working at the site.
Police chief O.P. Mishra said a complaint has been registered against the builder, Bharat Realtors and Developers, the contractor and others associated with the construction.
