Nod to urban projects

New Year, new look.

Urban infrastructure projects worth Rs 32.12 crore will be implemented in 2014 that promises to change the face of Jamshedpur.

During the maiden meeting on the last day of 2013, members of East Singhbhum project selection committee, which includes MP and three MLAs, sanctioned funds for projects to be implemented by JNAC, MNAC and Jugsalai municipality in its respective areas.

The projects include construction of roads, drains and public lavatories, installation of high-mast and streetlights, opening community hall-cum-training centres, construction of new green lungs and renovation of existing parks.

“The projects were sanctioned in the presence of local representatives and special officers of the three civic bodies. They had been pressing for these projects for long. The special officers will float tenders for the projects and all the ventures will have to be executed within this calendar year,” said additional deputy commissioner Ganesh Kumar.

The meeting was convened by DC Amitabh Kaushal. MP Ajoy Kumar, Jamshedpur West and East MLAs Banna Gupta and Raghubar Das, respectively, and Baharagora MLA Bidyut Varun Mahto were present among others.
