Dibrugarh, Dec. 29: Namrup Cricket Academy annexed the Salimuddin Ahmed under-16 tournament title, defeating home side Dibrugarh Cricket Academy by 130 runs at old Government Boys’ School Field here today.
Batting first, the visitors posted 214, losing seven wickets in the stipulated 30 overs. Anil Shah topscored for the side with 45 (2x4, 3x6) while offie Bipin Rai of Dibrugarh Cricket Academy bagged three wickets, conceding 32 runs.
In reply, Dibrugarh Cricket Academy were bundled out for 84 runs in just 20 overs. The highest scorer from Dibrugarh side was Bipin Rai who scored 29 (3x4, 1x6).
Offspinner Rahul Bhuyan of Namrup notched up three wickets for 19 runs to be named Man of the Match. Chao Choomeen Barua of the Dibrugarh side, who scored 207 runs, was Best Batsman of the Tournament.
The tournament was organised by Dibrugarh City Cricket Coaching Centre, in association with Mentally Disabled and Child Development Committee. Nine teams participated in the meet.
