Palamau DIG Praveen Singh, who had contested against Amitabh Choudhury for the prestigious post of president of Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) only to lose the elections, on Thursday resigned as head of Sai Cricket Coaching Academy at Dhurwa in the capital.
Describing Choudhury as a dictator, Singh said that he was stepping down for the sake of the future of budding cricketers at the club.
“Ever since I contested against incumbent JSCA chief Choudhury, he and his association members are meting out a step-motherly treatment towards the academy. Recently, despite submitting Rs 3,000 as entry fees for Ranchi District Cricket Association league, Sai players were disqualified without any reason,” Singh alleged.
Singh said he did not want hundreds of cricketers at the academy to suffer due to him and hence resigned.
