Sharjah: Mohammed Hafeez’s all-round effort helped Pakistan register an emphatic 113-run victory over Sri Lanka in the third ODI, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, on Sunday. The victory meant that Pakistan lead the five-match ODI series 2-1.
Hafeez scored his second century in the series as he remained unbeaten on 140. Courtesy his knock, Pakistan posted a huge total of 326 for five. The other notable contributors in the Pakistan innings were opener Ahmed Shehzad (81) and captain Misbah-ul-Haq (40). Pakistan bowlers later put up a disciplined performance to bundle out Sri Lanka for only 213 runs. Umar Gul was the most impressive bowler, returning figures of 5.4-0-19-3. Junaid Khan, Saeed Ajmal and Hafeez took two wickets each.
“I was trying to not get bogged down, I was trying to play technical shots,” MoM Hafeez said after the match.
