More than 1,800 residents of Sambalpur participated in a sanitation drive at the district headquarters hospital on Sunday. Programme coordinator Sudheer Pujari said: “This is a united effort. Ninety five social organisations took part in the drive.” After four hours of cleaning, the hospital looked sparkling. Sambalpur district collector Balwant Singh, who was present during the drive, said: “The response of the citizens is really encouraging.” Armed with brooms and other cleaning equipment the residents cleaned several wards, drains and roads of the hospital.
