Rules to break JEE medical tie

A set of 11 rules has been framed to break a tie in the JEE (medical) 2014.

The rules, which will decide the ranks of the students with same scores, are similar to the ones framed for this year’s engineering JEE.

The JEE board did not conduct the medical entrance test this year as candidates were selected on the basis of their scores in an all-India exam held by the CBSE.

The rules, to be applied one after another in the following order till a tiebreak:

Less negative marks scored in biological sciences, physics and chemistry taken together

More positive marks in the three subjects taken together

More positive marks in biological sciences and physics taken together

Less negative marks in biological sciences and chemistry taken together

Less negative marks in biological sciences and physics taken together

More positive marks in biological sciences in the 2-mark questions

More positive marks in chemistry in the 2-mark questions

More positive marks in physics in the 2-mark questions

Less negative marks in biology in the 2-mark questions

Less negative marks in chemistry in the 2-mark questions

Less negative marks in physics in the 2-mark questions.
