Training ammo for cops

Jamshedpur, Dec. 21: Jharkhand police can overcome their limitations as far as resources is concerned by effectively training personnel taking on Maoists and other criminals.

The suggestion came from state DGP Rajiv Kumar, who was in Jamshedpur today to attend the passing-out parade of JAP-6 at Baridih.

“Good results can be achieved only when policemen are well trained to counter Maoists and criminals. We have acquired a large ground at Mosabani for setting up a training centre like the existing one in Hazaribagh,” he said, adding that the Hazaribagh facility would be upgraded soon.

Besides the DGP, the passing-out parade was attended by several other senior police officers, including East Singhbhum SSP Amol V. Homkar and commandant of JAP-6 Mrityunjay Kishore.

As many as 445 jawans of JAP-6, who underwent a six-month rigorous training, took part in the parade.
