Joint lead at Tata golf

- Bangalore boy Dharma scores day’s best

Jamshedpur, Dec. 21: M. Dharma of Bangalore and Bangladesh’s Md Zamal Hossain Mollah are jointly leading the tee table at the 12th Tata Open as both finished the penultimate day of the tie with a two-stroke lead.

While Dharma posted a four-under-67 in round three on Saturday, Zamal came up with a two-under-69. Both players ended up with a three-day tally of 11-under-203.

Jamshedpur-based amateur Karan Taunk is following in the third position with nine-under-205.

Dharma fired a bogey-free 67 today to climb from tied second to joint first overnight.

“The key is to adjust well to the conditions at both Golmuri and Beldih courses while playing the last two rounds. I managed to do that today and reaped rewards. I had good starts on all three days and that has been an advantage. I will look to shoot a sub-par round on Sunday,” said Dharma, who ended up with the best score of the day.

Md Zamal Hossain Mollah made four birdies and two bogeys for a 69 that kept him at the top of the pack along with Dharma. “I had a mixed day today. I hit it close on many occasions and executed some great approach shots. At the same time, I also hit some poor strikes. Now, my aim will be to find maximum fairways and greens in the final round in order to stay in contention,” said Zamal.

Jamshedpur golfer Karan Taunk scored a 69 to keep his title hopes alive.
