Khadi fair kicks off today

Ranchi, Dec. 21: Ranchi residents can look forward to jazzing up their living rooms for New Year with artefacts bought from Rashtriya Khadi and Saras Mahotsav 2013, which will start at Morabadi grounds tomorrow and continue till January 11.

Organised by Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Union ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises and State Khadi and Village Industries Board, the fair will be graced by chief minister Hemant Soren on December 24.

As many as 500 kiosks will sell a variety of products from Assam, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha. “The venue will be referred to as Bhagwan Birsa Munda Nagar while the stage where cultural programmes will be held will be called Kasturba Gandhi Manch,” said chairman of the khadi board Jainandu. The fair will be open from 11am to 9pm.
