Guwahati, Dec. 17: Hosts Assam today went down to Andhra Pradesh by an innings and five runs to concede seven points, including a bonus, to the visitors on the third day of their four-day Cooch Behar Trophy under-19 plate group B cricket match at Nurul Amin Stadium in Nagaon today.
The visitors resumed their first innings at overnight 237 for seven to be all out for 267 in 131.3 overs this morning and then bowled out the home side for 70 in 32.1 overs in the second innings. Overnight not out batsmen N. Vineel Kumar (41, 5x4) and K. Sashikanth (17, 2x5) held fort for Andhra Pradesh for some time this morning, sharing a 37-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Left-arm spinner Alam also scalped Vineel Kumar and last man K. Bhimrao (8, 1x4) to wrap up the innings with a haul of six for 62. Skipper Wasiqur Rahman (16), opener Yatin Malik (14) and Romario Sharma (14) were the only Assam batsmen to score in double figures.
