Calcutta, Dec. 17: The state government today notified the 6 per cent dearness allowance instalment chief minister Mamata Banerjee promised to employees last month. The employees will get the increased DA from January.
This is the third DA instalment the Trinamul Congress government has given.
The state had released 10 per cent DA in January 2012 and another 7 per cent this January.
The Centre has released five instalments for its employees during this period.
While central government employees get 90 per cent of basic and grade pay as DA, their Bengal counterparts receive 52 per cent.
The six per cent instalment in January will bring down the difference to 32 per cent.
