New Delhi, Dec. 15 (PTI): Union labour and employment minister Sis Ram Ola died at a Gurgaon hospital early this morning after prolonged illness. He was 86.
The Congress leader from Rajasthan had been suffering from various ailments for some time and was “chronically ill”, sources in Medanta Medicity said.
Ola had undergone an eye surgery and an intestine operation at the hospital where he has been admitted since November, his family said. The Jat leader is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
Road transport and highways minister Oscar Fernandes has been given additional charge of the labour ministry.
