Climate plan talks

Patna, Dec. 14: Various voluntary and social organisations today organised a daylong state-level consultation on “Bihar Action Plan on Climate Change”.

The action plan, being prepared in line with National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC), would prepare an outline for existing and future policies and programmes to address the climate mitigation and adaptation. NAPCC, released by the Prime Minister on June 30, 2008, identifies eight core national missions.

Participants, who expressed concern over the rising temperature due to climate change, were of the view that preparation of the State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC) should not be confined only to government’s inter-departmental process, rather there should be people’s participation.
