Calcutta: A glut of meet records was witnessed on the fourth day of the Kolkata Invitational Sports — an inter-school athletic tournament, organised by the Debanjan Sen Foundation.
On Thursday, Aakash Dave of La Martiniere for Boys, Ishita Tibrewal of Modern High School created two records each, while Arkayan Ganguly of St James’, Pragya Bothra and Ruchika Mukherjee of Modern High School, Siya Manna of Julien Day, Adidev Roy, Nikhil Patnaik and Joybeer Datta of La Martiniere, Mansi Poriya and Vasudev Sharma of Army Public School were some of the others who broke records.
Aakash, who is participating in the under-19 category, won three gold medals — 110 metres hurdles, 400 metres and 4x200 metres relay — on Thursday.
He had won one gold in long jump. Ishita, however, has now five medals in her kitty — 800 metres, 400m, 4x200 metre relay, discus and shot put.
In the under-13 category, Arkayan Ganguly of St James’ won the 400 metres gold with a timing of 1:03.50 seconds.
