Miner killed

Shillong, Dec. 12: A migrant labourer died in a coal mine this morning in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district.

Jirmal Boro, 32, died on the spot when the mine he was working in collapsed around 5.30am, police said.

The mine belongs to one Weibor Dkhar at Maibon under Umpleng anti-dacoity camp in East Jaintia Hills. A probe has been launched. Five migrant coal miners recently died in East Jaintia Hills.
