Calcutta: Modern High School girls bagged both the gold medals in shot put in the Under-19 and Under-16 categories on the third day of the Kolkata Invitational Sports — an inter-school athletics organised by Debanjan Sen Foundation — on Wednesday.

It was Modern High School’s Shreya Banerjee who produced the performance of the day when she clinched gold in the U-16 girls’ shot put event by a huge margin. Shreya hurled an astounding 6.95m. Her schoolmate Savi Garg threw 6.39 m to finish second and Smriti Mohan of Army Public (6.00m), came third.
