Imphal, Dec. 11: MYSC Churchandpur booked a berth in the final round defeating Ninou FC, Sadar Hills by 3-1 goals in the 57th Sir Churchand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung today.
Jamchinlen scored the first goal for MYSC in the third minute for the early lead. They consolidated with the second goal from Jamchinlen in the fifth minute to post a 2-0 lead. MYSC got their third goal in the 72nd minute with Haosei netting home. Ninou FC scored the only goal from a penalty after MYSC player Seiminlal handled the ball inside the danger zone. Thanjagin Haokip converted the penalty in the 78th minute.
In another match, Khetri Iril Mapal Youth Club also moved to the final round beating Birchandra Memorial Sporting Club, Tabungkhok by 2-1 goals.
Tennis: Tuleshwor Singh and Dilip Singh claimed the above 40-years doubles event of the third State Open CYLC Tennis Tournament 2013, played at Tennis Court, Pishum. In the final match, the pair of Tuleshwor and Dilip defeated Ibohal Singh and Ranjan Singh 6-3, 6-3 for the title.
Sepak Takraw: Manipur moved into the quarter-final of the boys’ category of the 59th National School Games for Sepak Takraw at Khuman Lampak indoor stadium.
