Calcutta: Sunil Chetri lauded the All India Football Federation’s plan to bid for the 2015-16 Club World Cup.
According to Chetri, having already won the rights to host the under-17 World Cup in 2017, it would be a huge lift for Indian football if Club World Cup too is staged in the country.
“Obviously, it will be a great achievement for Indian football if the Club World Cup happens here and is followed by the Under-17 World Cup… You can’t ask for anything more.
“Scouts from all over the world will be coming to India before the start of the U-17 World Cup. India could be the cynosure then,” Chetri, speaking as India captain, said, here, on Tuesday.
