Lalu’s chill pill for partymen

Ranchi, Dec. 10: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, who is currently serving time at Birsa Munda Central Jail following his conviction in a fodder scam case, today asked his party leaders to hold their patience and refrain from making any hasty move that might help “communal forces”.

Upset over the style of functioning of the Hemant Soren government, RJD MLAs, including water resources minister Annapurna Devi and tourism minister Suresh Paswan, called on Lalu inside the jail around 10am.

They complained that the JMM-led government had miserably failed in all fronts, which in turn might have adverse impact on RJD’s performances during the coming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.

Lalu, however, told his party leaders that toppling the Hemant Soren government at this juncture would not benefit the RJD in the coming elections. “An appropriate decision would be taken at the right moment,” a party MLA quoted Lalu as saying.

Last evening, the RJD MLAs met Hemant at Project Building with their grievances. Also, they warned the chief minister that the party would be forced to withdraw support from his government if open auction of riverbanks was not stayed.
