Loyola boys win Tata quiz

Loyola School students Fahad Inbesat and S.N. Aditya Murty made the steel city proud by clinching the winners’ trophy at Tata Steel Interstate School Quiz, the final of which was held at Tata Auditorium on XLRI campus on Tuesday.

Rishabh Dev and Srijan Sinha from DPS, Ranchi, steered their cradle to the first runner-up spot. DAV Public School, Bistupur, represented by Nikhil Kumar and Nikhil Ranjan bagged the second runner-up prize in the quiz, which saw the participation of schools from Jamshedpur, Ranchi and Bhubaneswar.

While the winners walked home with a cash prize of Rs 35,000, the first and second runners-up won Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000, respectively.

Teams representing eight cradles fought it out in the final tie. These comprised six Jamshedpur schools — Loyola School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, Kerala Samajam Model School, Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, DAV Public School-Bistupur and Carmel Junior College. DPS-Ranchi and DAV-Bhubaneswar qualified for the summit clash from their respective cities.
