Guwahati, Dec. 8: Hosts Assam took a first-innings lead of 124 runs against Odisha in a Cooch Behar Trophy under-19 plate group B league match at Golaghat District Sports Association stadium today.
Put in to bat first, the visitors were skittled out for 62 in 22.1 overs, courtesy pacer Mrinmoy Dutta’s performance of five wickets for 10 runs.
Assam were 187 for six in 65 overs at stumps on day one of the four-day match.
Amar Alam picked up three for 16 and Rajjakuddin Ahmed took two for 22. S. Senapati (12, 2x4) and M. Hussain (11, 1x4) were the only Odisha batsmen to reach double figures.
Assam lost an early wicket in Yatin Malik (6), but Hrishikesh Tamuli (79) and Dhrubajyoti Das (42) shared a second-wicket partnership of 94 runs to take the hosts past Odisha’s score.
Three quick wickets — Yasir Ali (13, 2x4), Wasiqur Rahman (14, 2x4) and Romario Sharma (21, 1x4), — followed the dismissal of Das.
Dasmanikpuri took three wickets for 54 runs.
