Intern replies to police

New Delhi, Dec. 7: The law intern who had accused Justice Asok Kumar Ganguly of sexual harassment has informed Delhi police that she would “cooperate” with them, an officer said.

“In an email, the intern said she was currently on tour and is scheduled to return soon and will cooperate with us,” a senior Delhi police officer said.

He declined to disclose more information, citing the sensitive nature of the case. Another officer confirmed the receipt of the email and said information available with him matched with that of his colleague.

Delhi police had written to the law intern yesterday, requesting her to record her statement so that further action could be initiated in the case. She was also requested to indicate the time and place where her statement can be recorded.

The police had said it would be difficult to proceed much without a statement from the intern.

The police today said the hotel where the incident was alleged to have taken place on December 24 last year had informed them that its system did not retain CCTV footage older than a month.
