Khetri Iril drub Chandel 4-0

Imphal, Dec. 5: Khetri Iril Mapal Youth Club drubbed CFC Chandel by 4-0 goals in the 57th Sir Churchand Singh football tournament played at Mapal Kangjeibung here today.

The CFC Chandel team, playing for the first time in the meet, proved no match for the experienced Khetri Iril Mapal team.

Taking time in the match, Khetri Iril Mapal struck in the 25th minute of play with M. Romi Meitei netting an easy shot into the goal after collecting a through pass from Akbar Khan to take control of the first half.

M. Romi Meitei further proved his worth, fetching his second goal in the 52nd minute with able support from Gandhi Panmei to tighten their grip on the match.

Khetri Iril Mapal got cracking once again after Sh. Ajit shot home in the 69th minute and later Yangmi wrapped up for Khetri Iril Mapal with their fourth goal in the injury time for the comfortable victory.

In another match, Youth Development Organisation defeated HIDA Thoubal by 4-3 goals in the tie-break to move into the next round.

Goalless during regulation time, the match outcome had to be decided by a tie-breaker.

In the shootout, Youth Development Organisation put home four goals through Y. Deepak, M. Sanjoy, N. Joykumar and N. Olen Singh while Th. Bebeshwor shot wide.

For HIDA Thoubal, Peter, Syed Wahas, Md Aziz Khan ruffled the net while Chochon and Md Ambirís shot were saved by Youth Development keeper.
